When to Use: End Cap thresholds are often used at exterior doorways as a transition between bamboo wood flooring and the doorway threshold. End Cap thresholds are also used to transition a bamboo wood floor to a different flooring type (tile, carpet, etc.), providing for a professional looking installation.
Installation Note: When installing End Cap thresholds, it is important not to attach the molding directly to the bamboo wood flooring as the floor itself must be able to expand and contract under the lip of the molding by ½” in either direction. To attach the molding, apply one or two 1/4 inch beads of construction adhesive to the subfloor and seat the molding in place. If nailing the End Cap threshold to the wood subfloor, pre-drill the molding to prevent splitting and nail to the subfloor behind the lip of the molding. When nailing, be careful not to obstruct the floor’s expansion space under the molding.
